WHO ARE THE BOBS

For those of you who do not know about us we will explain.

The BOBS (Brora Old Boys) are senior members of Brora Golf Club who play 15 holes under stableford rules on each Tuesday morning (Weather permitting).  We are always pleased to welcome visitors who do not necessarily have to be senior citizens and often during the summer months we have quite an international field.

The competition fee is £2 plus 10p for each bunker which you land in. The best three cards earn a voucher for the club shop.

Surplus funds are donated to local causes and charities to whom we have been able to give over £1,500 during the last three years.

All players are automatically entered in the summer or winter eclectic competitions and if anyone achieves that magic hole in one the BOBS fork out for drinks all round.

Pictured in Wattie MacBeath who was recently presented with the Gerd Meuman Bowl for winning the BOBS winter eclectic with a total of 51 points.

Wattie was also winner of our last summer eclectic demonstrating a successful return to golf after a few seasons' absence.

Bernard Ledwith and Tony Tracey were joint runners up in the winter eclectic with a score of 50.

We are grateful to Gert Meuman for donating this impressive trophy and to Alec Rennie for hand-crafting its hard wood base.

The summer season is now well underway and all members and visitors are welcome to join us for our Tuesday morning rounds.
