CLUB NEWS:    Support the Curtis Cup at The Nairn Golf Club.... Golf Week programme finalised.... Latest BOBS results....

Message from Alistair Risk, Club President
It must be summer as the sun is shining and the Arctic Terns, that are our club mascot, have returned to nest on the beach, where I also saw a dolphin this week-- so why not be like them and make your plans to visit this beautiful corner of golfing Britain.

What a great year 2011 was for Brora Golf Club with the course subject to many plaudits from magazines and inspectors, from the Pros and the groups that visited who raved about the condition of this James Braid Masterpiece and found our rates and the challenge of our course to be amongst the best in the UK. We hosted our first ever PGA event and they will be back in May, our Open events were sell outs and our visitor numbers high.

This year we have held our visitor fees at last years rates to encourage even more of you to come north and play Brora, with the special Spring and Autumn rates or the £25 Summer "Twilight" rate a real value for money offer. And remember a junior playing with a full paying adult plays free. There never was a better time to visit and play Brora so I hope to welcome you soon.

The sixteenth hole requires your best drive just as you are starting to feel a trifle weary. The out of bounds fence sits atop the raised beach remnants of the Jurassic age, when the glacier eventually slipped into the sea. The second shot to a green  perched high on the top is a demanding one with a wicked defile left and a bunker hidden right.

Hole descriptions are from Hugh Baillie's book, "Golf in the Back of Beyond"  - available from the Pro Shop
